Steady a worried visitor
Someone facing a charge or a dispute is already tense. The site had to feel calm and easy to read from the first screen.
Tham, Goh & PartnersLegal · Law firm website
The website for Tham, Goh & Partners, a law firm with its head office in Seri Kembangan, Selangor. It gives a worried visitor small things to do first: find the right practice area, read a short article, work out a rough figure, then message a named person.
Tham, Goh & Partners Advocates & Solicitors is a law firm with its head office in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, and further offices in Jerantut, Nilai and Semenyih. Potadot designed and built its website in English, Bahasa Melayu and Chinese. The site treats first contact with a lawyer as a series of small steps: a calm map, five practice areas, articles titled as everyday questions, two calculators for a rough figure, and a WhatsApp button that lists three people by name.
Tham, Goh & Partners is led by Mr. Tham Joe Ping and works from four offices in Selangor, Pahang and Negeri Sembilan, serving clients throughout Peninsular Malaysia. Its practice areas are criminal law, civil law, property and conveyancing, corporate law and intellectual property.
The firm is also a Certified Trademark Agent and has a China Desk for Chinese clients in Malaysia. With affiliated partners such as the Lawyer Boy 律师仔 platform, it shares legal knowledge with the public.

Nobody browses law firms for fun. A visitor wants to know three things before making contact: can this firm help, can I trust it, and what might it cost.
Someone facing a charge or a dispute is already tense. The site had to feel calm and easy to read from the first screen.
A criminal matter, a house purchase and a trademark are very different needs. Each visitor should reach the right one without knowing the legal terms.
The firm serves clients in English, Bahasa Melayu and Chinese. Each group should be able to read the site in its own language.
The registration number, four addresses, phone numbers and working hours all had to be easy to find. For a law firm, these details are part of the trust.
Contacting a lawyer can feel like a big decision, especially when you are not sure you need one or what it will cost. So the site does not ask for that decision straight away. It offers smaller things to do first. See where the firm is. Find your area. Read a short article. Work out a rough figure. Each step is easy to take, and by the end, sending a message to a named person is just one more.

Three red bars rise beside a classic serif name, with the Chinese name below. The site keeps that formal, settled feeling in its headlines and lets the logo keep the red to itself.
The firm’s first words are about place: Kuala Lumpur and Peninsular Malaysia. So the opening picture is a map, drawn in dots light enough to sit behind the words.
Someone with a legal worry needs room to think. That is why the page is mostly white and soft off-white, with warm tan in place of heavy colour.
White and soft off-white carry most of the page, and tan handles the small accents. Against all that calm, the green WhatsApp button is easy to find.

Malaysia is drawn in small pale dots behind the first headline. It says where the firm works, and it is so light that the words always stay in front.
Each practice area has one small picture that needs no legal knowledge: handcuffs, scales, a building, a briefcase and a light bulb. The words stay short, so a visitor can pick a card quickly.
The home page stays light for most of its length, moving gently between white and soft white, and only turns dark at the end. The bar above shows the page to scale, and the arrow marks the “Looking for a Lawyer?” band, where the colour change tells you the reading is done.
Follow the site the way a worried visitor would, one small step at a time. Each note says why that step is there.
White space, a dotted map of Malaysia and a few words: where the firm is, the line “Your Problems, We Solve.” and one sentence below it.
Why A worried person does not need more to read. In a few seconds they know what this is and where it is.
The next section says what the firm is, where it works and who leads it: Mr. Tham Joe Ping. The photo of the scales sits across two background colours, which links the heading band to the text.
Why People hand a legal problem to a person, not a logo. Naming the leader early makes the firm feel closer.
Each practice area gets a white card with a small picture and a few short lines, and each card opens a page of its own.
Why Most visitors do not know the legal term for their problem. A picture and a short line help them find the right card without it.
Our Clients is a slider of 14 logos. They range from Laurine and Red Dino to a cabinet maker and a youth association.
Why The names do the convincing here. With companies and an association side by side, a visitor can see that different kinds of clients have worked with this firm.
What’s New Today shows articles in a slider, with titles such as “I’ve Purchased A Counterfeit, What Should I Do?” and “Are Public Displays of Affection (PDA) Illegal?”
Why Someone unsure whether they need a lawyer can start by reading. The title is in their own words, and reading asks nothing of them.
The Calculator menu holds two tools. In the Legal Fees Calculator, you type a purchase price and loan margin and see the legal fees and stamp duty. The Exposure Calculator estimates the maximum award in an unfair dismissal case. The figures shown here are our own example.
Why Cost is often the first thing people want to know and the last thing they want to ask. A quick estimate, labelled as one, lets them come to the firm with a starting point.
The green button stays in the corner as you scroll. Press it and three WhatsApp numbers open, each with a name: Mr. Wilson, Mr. Tham and Ms. Koh.
Why Messaging someone by name is a much smaller step than contacting a law firm. It is the last step, and the easiest one.

The page looks simple. These details help people find the firm and reach the right person.
BM, EN and 中 sit in a bar at the top of the page, and each version is marked for Google.
Each page has its own title, and the site describes the firm and its pages in a format Google can read.
The sums happen on the page, and the rules behind them are set out in tables below the tool.
Each of the five areas has its own page, linked from the menu, the footer and the home page cards.
Chinese clients in Malaysia have their own page, covering services such as company incorporation and MM2H applications.
The footer lists all four offices, three phone numbers, working hours and separate emails for litigation, conveyancing and general matters.

What the firm does, who looks for it, and what worries people before they contact a lawyer.
We set out the firm’s profile, five practice areas and contact details in short lines, in English, Bahasa Melayu and Chinese.
Tan on soft white, the dotted map, the five cards and both calculators, each set out for phone and desktop.
Page titles and firm details set up for Google, the three language versions linked, then launch and support.

We worked out the concept, shaped the content, designed the pages and built the site in English, Bahasa Melayu and Chinese, with two calculators and search setup.
Cost is often the first thing people wonder about. A quick estimate gives them a figure to start from. The pages describe the result as an estimate and invite people to contact the firm for a full quotation or advice.
A name is easier to message than a company. It also makes the first contact feel like a conversation with a person, which suits someone nervous about speaking to a lawyer.
Yes. We start from your practice and the people who come to you, so your site will have its own idea and its own look. Tell us about your firm and we will show you how we would approach it.
